Blog 3: Mental Health

 Hello! Today I will talk to you about the importance of mental health and the role of psychologists in this area. To begin with, mental health is very important to be able to maintain a healthy life in every aspect, our social relationships and with ourselves improve, we are able to solve problems and know how to act in adverse situations. However, in Chile mental health is very deteriorated due to the poor quality of access to it. In the public service the attention is very deficient, having sometimes very short sessions and with a low frequency of visits, so the therapeutic follow-up is difficult. There is not an optimal investment in mental health in our country which is of utmost urgency to solve, since a private consultation is often not accessible to people, also continues to be a taboo to go to the psychologist, so there is a task in educating people, often do not know what to do, we feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and the psychologist is the professional who can help us, as it is responsible for guiding us, to study our behavior and emotions to choose the best treatment and have a good mental health, which has deteriorated a lot in this pandemic! I hope that public policies improve and there is better access to mental health, I also hope that going to therapy is normalized, it is very important to build healthy relationships with the exterior and interior.
